iScan Color Management

Anchor Bay has added a Color Management System (CMS) to the DVDO iScan Duo video processor and AV hub.

Current iScan Duo owners will be able to download new firmware, which is available now, at no charge. The suggested retail price of the processor remains unchanged at $1,299.

Video calibrators will be able to perform color calibration of displays through the controls of the processor, free of any limitations or complications involved with performing calibration by using the display’s controls, according to the company.

Anchor Bay says the iScan Duo’s CMS allows for setting accurate color output through precise adjustment of color primaries and white point using the Color Gamut and Chromaticity control. The display’s grayscale levels can be precisely set over the full signal range using a new 11-point Grayscale control. The iScan Duo automatically generates the necessary test pattern for each control to simplify the calibration process.

Designed with the custom installer in mind, the iScan Duo offers eight HDMI 1.3 inputs and three HDMI 1.3 outputs. Two of the HDMI outputs enable the use of two Deep Color displays, and the third sends an HDMI 1.3-compatible audio only signal to a separate audio processor or receiver. All video sources, regardless of resolution, can be scaled up to 1080p. Even higher resolutions, such as WUXGA (1920x1200), are supported as well.

In addition to the new Color Management System, the iScan Duo’s VRS technologies include: Precision Deinterlacing, Progressive Re-Processing (PReP), Precision Video Scaling II, Mosquito Noise Reduction, Fine Detail Enhancement, Edge Enhancement, Progressive Cadence Detection, Rightrate Framerate Conversion, Precision AV Lipsync, AutoVFR, and Auto CUE-C.
